[edit] Story
You wake up as a character who has cheated death and has been brought back to life through a resurrection process known as the Well of Souls.
[edit] Gameplay
In the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning there are a total of 4 playable Classes, 5 Regions, 3 Class Trees and 22 different Abilities. At the very start of the game the player will be in possession of no abilities, nothing known of their history, no items and knows nothing more than the fact they have been brought back from the dead via an experimental process known as the Well of Souls. The game will include a Destiny system in which you are a Fateless one, a being without any predetermined purpose. This means you can invest skills into a variety of attributes in order to create your own destiny via the Skill Tree available for your character. Occasionally you will come across quicktime events that take place in the game but ultimately the combat is dependent on timely button pressing.
[edit] Development
38 Studios managed to recruit Big Huge Games to help them develop Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning as well as gathered the rights to their game in 2009 under the project name of Project Murcury, it was only during the San Diego Comic Con in 2010 that the title for the project was actually Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. They showcased their first public demonstration at the Penny Arcade Expo on March 11, 2011.
[edit] Demo
A demo was released for download on all systems on January 17, 2012 and met with mostly positive reviews. However it was revealed that the demo did have some bugs that, while didn't prove detrimental to the game, did decrease the enjoyment for many people. Such bugs included voice acting cutting out during cut scenes and the game freezing at times.
